Corinna Luyken is an author and illustrator of picture books known for her expressive, painterly illustrations and emotionally resonant stories. Her debut, The Book of Mistakes (2017), follows an artist whose drawing errors become part of a larger creative work, celebrating the role of mistakes in the creative process. The book was named a New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book.
Her subsequent books continue to explore themes of identity, emotion, and wonder. Adrian Simcox Does NOT Have a Horse (2018) is about empathy and imagination, My Heart (2019) examines the many states of a child’s emotional life, and The Tree in Me (2021) connects a child to the natural world. Patchwork (2022) and ABC and You and Me (2023) round out her catalog with stories about individuality and early learning.
