Claire Amarti grew up in Ireland and now lives in Brooklyn, New York. She writes domestic suspense novels centered on women, often sisters, mothers, and daughters, who discover that the ordinary surfaces of their lives are hiding something much more unsettling. Her three novels were published between 2020 and 2021.
Her debut, The Silent Daughter, follows a woman uncovering difficult truths about her own family history. The First Wife’s Secret takes place around a 25th wedding anniversary celebration that goes wrong, with old secrets surfacing among the gathered family members. After She Left deals with a woman’s disappearance and its effects on those left behind. Amarti’s books are driven by family dynamics and the slow reveal of information that changes how characters see the people closest to them.
