Caroline Carlson writes middle grade fantasy and adventure novels. She is best known for The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates, a series about a girl who wants to become a pirate in a world where magic and maritime adventure collide. The series started with Magic Marks the Spot in 2013 and ran for three books through The Buccaneers’ Code (2015).
Outside the pirate series, Carlson has written three standalone novels: The World’s Greatest Detective (2017), The Door at the End of the World (2019), and Wicked Marigold (2024). Her books share a knack for humor, strong young heroines, and inventive fantasy premises.
