Carol Drinkwater has 51 books to her name, published between 1985 and 2022, spread across seven different categories. The largest chunk is the My Story series, with over twenty titles spanning historical fiction for younger readers. These cover subjects from the Titanic and the Suffragette movement to World War II-era stories like Sophie’s Secret War and Codename Celine, and the series kept going from the early 1990s through 2022.

The Olive series is Drinkwater’s other well-known body of work, a collection of non-fiction books about life on an olive farm that began with The Olive Farm in 2001 and eventually grew to eight or nine entries including The Olive Route and Return to the Olive Farm. She also wrote the two-book Molly series for children, several short stories and novellas, and a handful of standalone novels going all the way back to The Haunted School in 1985. The range is wide, from children’s historical fiction to memoir-style non-fiction to literary novels like An Abundance of Rain and The House on the Edge of the Cliff.
