Carl Weber is a New York Times bestselling author who has been writing African American fiction since 2000. He graduated from Virginia State University with a degree in accounting and holds an MBA from the University of Virginia. Before becoming a full-time author, he worked in business, and that commercial sense carried over when he founded Urban Books, his own publishing company that has launched the careers of many other African American fiction writers.

Weber’s first novel, Lookin’ For Luv, came out in 2000 and kicked off a string of bestsellers. His most popular series is The Family Business, which follows the Duncan family of Jamaica, Queens – a sophisticated crime family that operates behind the front of a car dealership. The books have been co-written with several collaborators and were adapted into a BET television series. Weber has also written the Church series, the Big Girls Book Club books, and edited the long-running Full Figured anthology series. His work regularly deals with relationships, family loyalty, and the complications of love and money in Black communities.
