Brad Magnarella writes urban fantasy and science fiction with a focus on fast-paced series. His longest and best-known work is the Prof Croft series, which began with Book of Souls (2016) and has grown to fourteen books. The series follows Everson Croft, a mythology professor at a New York university who moonlights as a wizard dealing with supernatural threats. The Croft universe has expanded into spin-off series: Croft & Tabby, which pairs Croft with a werecat detective, and Croft & Wesson, set in a haunted Southern town.

His XGeneration series (2013-2016) takes a different direction with a seven-book young adult science fiction story about teenagers who develop superhuman abilities during the Cold War. The Blue Wolf series adds werewolf mythology to Magnarella’s urban fantasy repertoire, while The Prisoner and the Sun trilogy was his earliest published work. Magnarella also writes the Maddy Deeds series about a daemon operative. Across all his series, Magnarella favors supernatural settings with humor mixed into the action.
