Beth Revis grew up in a small town in the mountains of North Carolina and started writing her first novel when she was still in high school. After years of rejections on earlier manuscripts, she broke through with Across the Universe in 2011, a YA sci-fi thriller set aboard a generation spaceship. The trilogy became a New York Times bestseller and established her as a major voice in YA science fiction.

Since then, Revis has written widely across genres. She has contributed extensively to the Star Wars universe with YA novels like The Princess and the Scoundrel and the Padme trilogy (Queen’s Peril, Queen’s Hope), along with graphic novel adaptations. Her darker fantasy side shows in the Give the Dark My Love duology, which blends necromancy with plague fiction, and in the Witch and Hunter duology co-written with historical fantasy elements.

More recently, Revis has moved into sci-fi comedy with her Chaotic Orbits series and middle grade fantasy with Museum of Magic. She is also the author of the Paper Hearts non-fiction series, which draws on her own publishing experiences to help aspiring writers with the business and craft of getting published.
