Bella Mackie is a British author and journalist based in the UK. Her first book, Jog On (2018), drew on her personal experience of using running to manage anxiety and depression. It found an audience among readers interested in mental health and fitness, and a companion journal, Jog on Journal, followed in 2019.
Her fiction debut came with How to Kill Your Family in 2021, a novel with a very different tone. Narrated by Grace Bernard, a woman who systematically murders the family of the father who rejected her, the book is written as dark comedy and became a substantial bestseller in the UK. What A Way To Go followed in 2024.
Mackie writes journalism alongside her books and has been a regular contributor to publications including the Guardian.
