Barbara Copperthwaite writes psychological thrillers rooted in domestic life. Her debut, Invisible (2014), launched a run of six novels through 2021, each built around secrets, lies, and the dark side of ordinary relationships. The Darkest Lies (2017) follows a mother trying to find out who attacked her daughter in a quiet English town.
Her books share a focus on female protagonists dealing with threats that come from people they know and trust. The Girl in the Missing Poster (2021) is her most recent novel. She also contributed to the Everyday Kindness anthology in 2021.
