Katie Alender is a YA author who grew up in South Florida and studied at the Florida State University Film School before moving to Los Angeles to work in television production. She eventually turned to writing fiction, and her debut novel, Bad Girls Don’t Die, was published in 2009.
The Bad Girls Don’t Die trilogy follows Alexis Warren, a sharp-tongued teenager who realizes her younger sister’s strange behavior is not just a phase but the work of a vengeful ghost. The series was selected for the Texas Library Association’s Tayshas Reading List and named to the New York Public Library’s Stuff for the Teen Age list in 2010. All three books, Bad Girls Don’t Die, From Bad to Cursed, and As Dead As It Gets, were published between 2009 and 2012, and together they have sold over half a million copies.
