Ann Purser is a British author of cozy mysteries set in English villages. Born in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, she has spent most of her life in villages and brings that experience to her fiction. Before writing novels, she worked as a journalist (including as a columnist for SHE magazine), art gallery manager, and school clerical assistant.
Her Lois Meade Mystery series follows a house cleaner and mother of three who stumbles into amateur detective work in the village of Long Farnden. Kirkus Reviews called it “first-class work in the English-village genre.” Each title cleverly reflects a day or time: Murder on Monday, Terror on Tuesday, and so on.
Purser also writes the Ivy Beasley Mystery series, featuring elderly sleuths in a retirement community.
