Amy Lukavics published four YA horror novels between 2015 and 2018. Her debut, Daughters Unto Devils, is set on the American frontier and follows a teenage girl whose family moves to a cabin with a dark past. The Women in the Walls (2016) takes place in a crumbling mansion where something is living inside the walls. The Ravenous (2017) deals with a family of sisters hiding a horrifying secret, and Nightingale (2018) is set in a hospital where patients are experiencing disturbing events.
Each of Lukavics’s novels is a standalone story, but they share a consistent approach to YA horror: domestic settings turned threatening, female protagonists in danger, and an atmosphere that leans gothic. She also contributed to Unnerving Magazine Issue #6 in 2018. Her novels offer horror that works for both teen and adult readers.
